Leather in 1979

It's November and leather weather is upon us! In honor of the iconic material, check out the following editorial from a 1979 issue of L'Officiel. The spread goes beyond your everyday leather jacket, showing the versatility of tanned hides.

From a fashion history standpoint, the editorial is also a potent reminder that decadism can be problematic. The big shoulders, big hair, and nipped waist so associated with the 1980s are all in full effect here.

Leather forever!
