Из Педро Паскаля, в котором при всем желании никак не узнать брутального Оберина Мартелла или Мандалорца, вышел самый жалкий и трогательный суперзлодей за всю историю комиксов — лузер, специализирующийся на финансовых пирамидах, пытается посредством мошенничества осчастливить себя и весь мир с предсказуемо чудовищными последствиями. Его герой Максвелл Лорд похож одновременно на Майкла Дугласа, Джеймса Белуши и Дональда Трампа в молодости. Лишним колесом в телеге выглядит лишь слащавый герой Криса Пайна, который вообще-то давно умер, но по многочисленным просьбам зрительниц был вытащен с того света. Своевременность второй «Чудо-женщины» подтверждается годом действия: он вынесен в название не без умысла. Перед нами именно антиутопия, в которой нашлось место и Большому Брату, который следит за нами с телеэкранов. В столицу США действие перенесено тоже не случайно: занесет амазонку и в Овальный кабинет. В итоге лишь женская самоотверженность, бескомпромиссность и честность будут способны бросить вызов мужской мегаломании, закомплексованности и паранойе.
