Infinite Variety
Last week I was lucky enough to catch the show Infinite Variety, a quilt show presented by the American Folk Art Museum at the Park Avenue Armory. The installation of the show was AMAZING. It was installed in the main hall of the Armory, a massive room that was a former drill hall. The ceiling was easily 40 feet tall and the quilts were suspended in series circles that were 3 quilts high. The array of red and white geometric patterns was hypnotizing. I loved it.
LCD's last stand
As most of us know LCD Soundsystem played their last show to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden on saturday 4/2. It was pretty wild. The crowd was great and the show sounded incredible. Their set was 3.5 hours long and was studded with bklyn friends and family including Shannon Funchess from Light Asylum singing backup and Jayson Green of Violent Bullshit as somewhat of the MC/funny guy. There is really something inspiring about a band tipping their hat adieu in the height of their success. People flew in from all over to fill in the 20,000 person crowd and people were obsessed.
