Light Asylum

Last Friday, Light Asylum played the Whitney. It was so cool to see them perform in a museum because they’re a band that I’ve had play at my house and have been obsessively following. A duo lead by Shannon Funchess and backed by Bruno Coviello, Light Asylum is nothing short of awesome. A blend of dark wave and pop and led by Shannon’s deep crazy soulful voice, they’re sound is hypnotic. At this point I’ve probably seen them around 10 times and something that I noticed last Friday was that not once have I ever seen them play a bad show or have an off night. They are flawless live. It Takes A Village.

We love the kids! As part of our continuing relationship with the Green School, due to Mary Meyer’s Art House Step Right Up program, MMC was invited as a presenter for career day. Being a graduate of the NYC public school system, I had a psychedelic experience as I walked past the cafeteria. It was then I remembered the square pizza — thick crust with cheese.
