Week In Review: Phants, Clam Pasta, It Can Change, and Bishop

Steel Phantoms- Forer EP

Today Steel Phantoms released their Forer EP and it sounds just great. After a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign they holed up for a week in Hartford CT and recorded a great group of songs. For the Kids

What a Night!   Last Saturday, we had two fundraisers for The Step Right Up Program and thanks to all of you, both were a huge success!   The first was FEAST which stands for Funding Emerging Artists through Sustainable Tactics. If you don’t know about these people, read up and get into them! What a great group of folks! People submit artistic proposals and eight are chosen to present at a community dinner. Food is donated from lots of awesome local restaurants such as Marlowe & Daughters and Diner, and beer is donated from Brooklyn Brewery. For $20, guests come and feast then vote for their favorite project. Bonnie & Mary were workin’ it! They stood in front of their science...

Bushwick Block Party

Saturday July 23rd I'll be once again participating in Roberta's annual block party. This year there are tons of vendors and bands. MMC will be set up with a bunch of sale items and fun beachy custom pieces. For the 2nd year in a row I'll be manning the photobooth and just wait till u see the set we're building for it... Oh and did someone say Free Pizza? Yes, Roberta's is giving away free pizza! Be there 261 Moore xx

Japan, Pt. III - Tea

We had tea ceremony at Obachan's house.  Obachan is like saying 'Auntie.'  She is the leader of the tea ceremony study group, which has been meeting for many years.  The tea ceremony is an art and a way of being, and I was very excited to experience it. Obachan looking at the chopsticks.  There were hydrangea mochis in the lacquer boxes.  That is my knee at the bottom of the picture.  A sand pit about a foot deep was recessed into the tatami mats and a charcoal fire burned inside, heating water for tea.
